We’re a couple who loves good food and loves to share it with friends.

Janis inherited her fondness for cooking from her grandmother, who liked nothing better than hosting large dinner parties. You’d think Grandma’s first job at age 20 -- cooking three meals a day over a wood fire for 40 men in a Montana logging camp -- would have soured her on culinary pursuits. But it seemed to have had just the opposite effect. By the same token, Janis’ mother had no use for the kitchen and generally didn’t want her in there “making a mess.” That attitude no doubt boomeranged, leaving Janis with a life-long, forbidden-fruit desire to get into the kitchen to experiment with recipes, play with ingredients and test new tools. And sometimes make a mess. But always have fun.

Bruce’s mother does like to cook and Bruce developed a palate that appreciates a wide range of flavors. Bruce’s lack of experience in the kitchen certainly contributed to Janis stretching her cooking skills. Since he could envision no limitations, he thought nothing of requesting something exotic for dinner. “Let’s have that kefta we had the other night at Al-Amir,” would parlay into Janis spending hours pouring over Lebanese cookbooks at the local Powell’s. Bruce would always get his kefta, so to speak.

When Janis first saw a cooking video on the Internet she knew her kitchen was destined for cyberspace. Bruce brought his lights, cameras and 30 years of commercial video experience into the kitchen. Together they bring you Cooking X2. Please share it with your friends.
